OAFP Joins AAFP in calling for renewal of Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Funding
On February 20, OAFP called on Oregon Senators Merkley and Wyden to support the passage of the “Training the Next Generation of Primary Care Doctors Act,” which would renew funding that supports teaching health centers who want to host primary care residents. This program is a critical tool in expanding training opportunities for family physicians; Oregon residency programs hope to expand using this funding mechanism.
