Betsy Boyd-Flynn, Executive Director

Betsy Boyd-Flynn is a transplant to Oregon with a long history of working for medical associations, including seven years with the Oregon Medical Association, serving for five of those years as the Deputy Executive Vice President. She has since worked with a health care quality reporting and analysis non-profit, and a health IT consulting firm specializing in Medicaid technology infrastructure funding. Working with the OAFP brings all of those experiences together. She is an avid knitter and reader, and proud to call Oregon home. She and her husband have two children.

Jackie Wirz, Chief Operations Officer and Executive Director of ORCA-FM

Jackie Wirz, PhD, is the COO of OAFP, and the Executive Director of ORCA-FM. Jackie brings her combined experience in scientific research, medical education and innovative nonprofit management to her work. Recent roles include serving as Executive Director of Donate Life Northwest, and as Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies at Oregon Health & Science University. Using her collaborative and strategic skills, she helps connect people and ideas to create meaningful change. Jackie is an avid reader and collects different editions of her favorite book, Jane Eyre. She believes that coffee is happiness and would love to meet with community members for a cup anytime.

Louise Merrigan, Program Director & Foundation Director

Louise grew up in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and settled in Boston after college. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in French. Before joining OAFP, she was the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at The Newman School in Boston for over 20 years. In 2015, she, her husband, and two children moved to NE Portland. She has brought her administrative, organizational and networking skills to the OAFP office. Louise enjoys knitting, cooking and doing puzzles in her spare time.

Liam Contino, Administrative Coordinator

Liam was born in California, but is a lifelong Oregonian. He graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Public Health, where he also met his wife during their studies together, and has spent the past seven years working in healthcare and nonprofits. Prior to joining the OAFP team, he worked for 4 years as a Development Coordinator with Legacy Health which included 6 months supporting vaccination efforts at the Oregon Convention Center during the height of the COVID pandemic. A lifelong learner, he is excited to support family physicians across the state and work to make an impact in the communities they serve. Liam enjoys reading, fantasy sports, and film theory.
