Get Involved
The OAFP is an active organization offering its members numerous opportunities for engagement, and we strive to ensure our leadership moves the organization towards equity, inclusion and diversity. Members are welcome to express interest in volunteer service at any time. New members can join these groups at any time so long as there are open seats; otherwise Commissions are appointed annually in the spring. We are interested in hearing more from members who want to serve on the following boards/committees. (Learn more about the committees, commissions and task forces on our Board & Commissions page.)
- Commission on Education
- Commission on External Affairs
- Task Force on Equity, Inclusion and Diversity
- OAFP Foundation Board
- OAFP PAC Board (must be current PAC member)
In addition, during the year, the OAFP offers programs in policy development, leadership development, among other opportunities to get involved and develop your leadership skills.
There are also other opportunities for involvement at the national level. The AAFP opens nominations for their various Commissions annually.
