OAFP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Status:   Full time, exempt position

Starting Salary:  $80,000 – 100,000, plus paid time off, annual bonus and benefits (12% of salary towards benefits like health insurance or car allowance and 8% of salary towards retirement plan). In addition to salary and benefits, we offer a very flexible, family friendly work environment.

About The Oregon Academy of Family Physicians:

The mission of the OAFP is to support family physicians in their pursuit of optimal health for the people of Oregon.

The organization was created 70 years ago and is the state chapter of a national organization.  Our market share is approximately 80%. The OAFP has a dedicated board of directors and a pool of interested members who help lead the organization and participate in our activities.

With a strong financial base, and the retirement of our current Executive Director, we’re looking for a new leader to work with the board of directors and promote family medicine in Oregon.  This position allows many opportunities for decision-making, learning and professional growth.

The Ideal Candidate will be:

  • Entrepreneurial, creative and visionary, with the ability to think big, while also managing details.
  • Organized, self-directed, and conscientious.
  • A self-starter, with the ability to think and act independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Position Requirements:

  • Leadership experience in successfully building partnerships, coalitions and membership organizations.
  • Knowledge of association management. If minimal experience with association management, must be willing to pursue a Certified Association Executive credential if requested by the board (on-line course).
  • Ability to convey passion and generate support for our mission.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Experience working with a board of directors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, oversee and complete projects in a timely fashion.
  • Willing to travel on occasion throughout the state and limited travel nationally.
  • Experience in the health field may be an advantage, but is not required.
